The Last Apprentice Revenge of the Witch By: Joseph Delaney
Tom Ward has been chosen to be the apprentice to Old Gregory The Spook. He is leaving his farm home to follow and learn the ways of the Spook. But he is a little frightened as everyone is wary of the Spook and his ways. Tom makes it through his first night challenge in the Haunted House and then is taken to the Spook's home, where he learns quickly to follow the rules. But Tom doesn't follow one rule and that is he talks to a girl with pointy shoes, and promises to help her. In helping her he helps a witch escape, and she wants his blood.
I really liked this book. It definitely teaches to listen to those who are wiser than you and to not go where you were told not to. I enjoyed the main character Tom, he really was trying to do a good job, and didn't mean to cause trouble, he just didn't know enough to stay away. The pictures at the beginning of each chapter gave a little hint as to what was going to happen next, which added a fun element.
