The Girl Who Threw Butterflies

The Girl Who Threw Butterflies By: Mick Cochrane

Molly misses her dad.  He passed away six months ago.  Her mother is now a different quiet person who barely talks.  Molly misses playing catch in the backyard with her dad, and having pitching lessons with him.  To feel a little closer to him, Molly decides to try out for the school baseball team.  She is a great pitcher, but baseball is for boys.

This was a terrific read for upper elementary and up.  What a wonderful story about loss and moving forward, and also about doing what you love even when you face trials. I loved the main character and was sad that she as a young person had to suffer the loss of her father.  Wonderful!!

I borrowed this from the public library.
