Walk Two Moons By: Sharon Creech
Sal is headed with her grandparents to find her mother. Her mother left one day and Sal wants to bring her back. Along the rode trip Sal tells her grandparents the story of Phoebe, Phoebe has the same type of problem, her mother left too. As Sal tells the story, you get a little of her story too, she misses her mother, and wants to find out where she is and why she left. But Phoebe's story is slightly different and as they hunt for her mom some interesting things happen to them.
This is a story of finding out who you are and accepting the things that happen in life. Sal wants her mom to come back but in her heart knows that she is not going to. I loved this book when I first read it as a young adult and still love it. It shows that you can move on, that by talking to others about your feelings you can cope with the things in your life. I have my 5th graders read this book and they really enjoy it too.
I bought this many years ago somewhere
